Job Overview
Peterson Power Systems requires a Project Engineer at our San Leandro, CA location. The Project Engineer serves as the primary technical liaison between internal teams and external customers, supporting standby power systems, industrial engines, and marine projects.
Essential Job Functions- Act as technical liaison between Sales/Project Managers and Customers.
- Work with contractors/customers to answer application and installation questions.
- Prepare detailed engineering submittals for standby power systems, industrial engine, and marine projects.
- Interface with Caterpillar factory and other vendors to gather required documentation.
- Generate official correspondence and responses to submittal review comments from consulting engineers and contractors.
- Prepare operation and maintenance manuals and other close‑out documentation.
- Maintain and revise the Peterson Power Drawings Database.
- Maintain and update the CAT Drawings Database.
- Work in concert with Project Managers on assigned projects.
- Travel up to 10% to customers, vendor meetings, and jobsites outside the territory.
Other duties may be assigned.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of three years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CompensationPay range: $95,000 – $110,000, depending on experience and education. Total compensation package includes base salary, competitive wages and generous benefits.
