ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Collect, enter, organize, and maintain EHS data, inspection records, training documentation, waste records, incident information, and other required compliance documents in applicable company systems. Conduct routine facility inspections, safety walkthroughs, housekeeping checks, and environmental observations to identify hazards, document findings, and support corrective action tracking. Inspect, stock, and maintain assigned safety equipment and supplies, including emergency eyewash and shower stations, spill kits, first aid supplies, PPE stations, emergency response materials, and related inspection logs.
Monitor specific workplace hazards such as blocked exits, machine guarding concerns, chemical storage, spill risks, walking-working surface conditions, powered industrial truck areas, noise exposure concerns, heat illness prevention controls, and other assigned EHS focus areas. Support job hazard analyses, workplace risk assessments, ergonomic observations, and other risk identification activities by gathering field data, documenting observations, and tracking recommended controls. Support Lockout/Tagout procedure development and updates by collecting equipment-specific information, taking field notes and photos, verifying energy isolation points with qualified personnel, organizing procedure files, and assisting with periodic review documentation.
Assist with confined space program support by reviewing confined space procedures, entry documentation, hazard assessments, signage, equipment availability, atmospheric monitoring records, and rescue or emergency response information for completeness and alignment with site requirements. Review permit-to-work activities and supporting documentation for assigned work, including hot work, confined space entry, elevated work, line break, energized work, contractor work, and other controlled activities, to confirm required forms, approvals, precautions, and closeout steps are completed.
Document gaps and follow-up items identified during LOTO procedure reviews, confined space reviews, permit-to-work checks, field verifications, and risk assessments, and communicate required actions to the appropriate EHS leader, supervisor, or responsible department. Assist with local regulatory compliance tasks related to Cal/OSHA, Cal EPA, local fire authority, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, medical waste, and other applicable safety and environmental requirements.
Track hazardous waste, medical waste, universal waste, and other regulated waste activities by maintaining logs, labels, storage area inspections, disposal records, manifests, and supporting documentation. Support incident reporting, near miss documentation, corrective action follow-up, and basic fact-gathering for safety and environmental events while ensuring information is recorded accurately and escalated appropriately. Assist with EHS training coordination by preparing materials, tracking attendance, maintaining sign-in sheets, updating training records, and supporting employee communication of routine safety topics.
