Job Overview

This part‑time Associate Banker position is 20 hours per week. It supports our DeNovo branch expansion, helping launch new locations, shape team culture, and drive client growth from day one.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Work collaboratively within the branch and through various channels with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve business objectives. Collaborate with BMO partners to identify referral opportunities that grow the customer’s relationship.

Welcome and guide customers in the lobby, and offer advice on digital and self‑serve options. As a lobby leader, conduct client conversations, recommend alternative banking channels, and provide personal banking and investment advice. Meet transaction‑based needs with seamless execution. Review customer profiles and engage in needs‑based conversations to identify opportunities and address everyday banking plans. Support operational activities such as inventory management, service requests, application follow‑up, filing, opening and closing activities.

Act as a key member of a branch and market team, probing to understand personal banking and credit card needs and integrating marketing promotions. Organize work information for accuracy and contribute creative approaches to personalize the customer experience. Seek ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience. Support risk and compliance processes, maintain privacy, and adhere to ethical standards. Identify suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and protect the bank's assets.

Analyze issues, determine next steps, and elevate as necessary. Take measured risks within our Risk Management Framework and risk appetite. Apply policies, laws, and regulations to protect assets and adhere to best practices.

Qualifications
  • Typically between 1–2 years of relevant experience and/or relevant certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A goal‑oriented, consultative, team‑based mindset:
    Passion to help customers, drive results, and bring a personal, consultative customer experience.
  • Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including building rapport, listening, solving problems, and responding flexibly and creatively.
  • Organization, collaboration, analytical, and problem‑solving skills (good).
  • Communication skills – verbal & written (good).
  • Access to a registration to sell investment products (Canada only) completed or in progress within 12 months.
  • Education and experience combining to meet technical requirements for the role.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $43,100.00 – $58,300.00 (Salaried). Salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure. Part‑time roles are pro‑rated based on hours worked. For commission roles the salary above represents the expected target for the first year. Benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans. Additional performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks and rewards may be offered.
