CNC Machinist
This role focuses on setting up and operating both CNC and manual machining equipment in a moderate to high-volume production environment. You will interpret engineering documentation, ensure parts meet precise tolerances, and maintain accurate production records while contributing to a clean, safe, and collaborative workplace.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers as well as manual lathes and milling centers in accordance with production requirements.
- Adjust tool and fixture offsets to achieve documented material tolerances and ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret work instructions, production orders, and product or component drawings to determine required dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow work order instructions and accurately record task times and production activities as directed.
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect parts and verify conformance to engineering-released documents and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-serviced work area, including regular cleaning and basic maintenance of machines.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth production flow and resolve issues promptly.
- Perform other machining and production-related duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
- 5–10 years of machining experience in moderate to high-volume production environments.
- Set up, operation, and adjustment experience with both manual and CNC lathe machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, engineering blueprints, and work instructions.
- Ability to read and comprehend production Bills of Materials and production orders.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, digital and analog indicators, surface plates, calipers, and related tools, fixtures, and jigs.
- Strong attention to first-time accuracy and adherence to documented tolerances and quality requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional and collaborative demeanor.
- Reliable, self-motivated work ethic with strong verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, document work accurately, and support continuous production operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of CNC programming experience preferred.
- Experience working with Mastercam is a plus.
- Experience in moderate to high-volume production machining environments.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute positively to a supportive, ethical company culture.

Work Environment
This position operates in a production machining environment with CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and milling equipment. You will work with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, indicators, surface plates, and calipers as part of daily inspection activities. The available shift is a first shift schedule of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting a consistent work routine and extended weekends.
