The Engineering Technician II supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electro-mechanical production equipment in a GMP-regulated environment. This role performs equipment maintenance, diagnostics, PCB rework, cable assembly, and equipment validation to ensure reliable operations, minimize downtime, and support product quality.

The Engineering Technician II works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams to improve equipment performance, resolve technical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Perform equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support manufacturing operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with electro-mechanical equipment, automated systems, and production processes.
  • Perform PCB rework, cable assembly, wiring, and electro-mechanical assembly activities.
  • Support installation, validation, qualification, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, validation, and production documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Summary

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support manufacturing operations.

  • Perform PCB rework, cable assembly, wiring, and electro-mechanical assembly activities.

Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment maintenance, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical equipment, automation systems, PCB rework, cable assembly, and equipment validation preferred.
  • GMP manufacturing experience required.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment and mechanical hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Hourly Compensation: $37.50 - $44.25 (Depending on Experience)

Salary Range: $78,000 - $92,000

Location: San Leandro, CA (Onsite, Full-time)
