Maintenance Mechanic
Based in San Leandro, CA, the Maintenance Mechanic will keep our dairy facility running smoothly by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining state‑of‑the‑art equipment. We offer a starting hourly rate of $41.73, which may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and any applicable collective‑bargaining agreement.
Main Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Follow diagrams, manuals, and specifications to repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot and identify malfunctions.
- Inspect and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Measure and adjust part dimensions as needed.
- Communicate preventive maintenance needs and ensure compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine‑shop tools.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Complete daily maintenance paperwork and prepare equipment setups.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing.
- At least 1 year of experience with mechanical or electrical repair.
- Knowledge of fabrication, machine‑shop tools, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
- LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) license preferred.
- EPA refrigeration certification preferred.
- Basic PLC knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in noisy environments.
- Forklift or powered‑equipment experience preferred.
