Installation and Service Technician – responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining retail inventory control and video equipment at customer sites.
Responsibilities- Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on retail products and equipment at customer sites.
- Keep track of service calls via computer, including products serviced, work performed, hours and parts utilized.
- Maintain an accurate parts inventory at levels that ensure a first-time fix.
- Demonstrate and train customers on proper use of their equipment.
- Communicate customer satisfaction, potential sales opportunities, or recurring problems to management.
- Complete additional tasks as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of Associate’s degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or an equivalent technical military training.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 3 years of prior related work experience.
- Completion of basic EAS and Video training and certifications.
- Highly organized with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
- General knowledge of electronics.
- Willingness to obtain or possess a state license, as required (state dependent).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Capability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs, climbing ladders, working on scaffolding and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, and operating in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Positive attitude and quick learning ability.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and scope documents.
- Certification in all Video & RFID solutions currently sold and serviced by the retail division (preferred).
- Network certification with full competency in required networking and advanced performance fundamentals.
- Ability to mentor and train others.
- Capability to service more comprehensive integrated solutions.
Hourly range: $36–$50, determined by education, experience, skills, and market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
