Maintenance Mechanic; Milk

Overview

Albertsons Companies is a leading food and drug retailer with a network of stores across the United States. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our dairy facility and support reliable, efficient operations from farm to table.

The role is based in San Leandro, CA. The starting hourly salary is $41.73 and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

As a Maintenance Technician at our milk facility, you will:

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Ensure machinery meets safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to address issues and prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and coordinate with vendors to procure parts and services as needed.

Your work will help ensure reliable and efficient operation of the dairy facility.

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Follow diagrams, manuals, and specifications for repairs.
• Troubleshoot and identify malfunctions.
• Inspect and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Measure and adjust part dimensions as needed.
• Communicate preventive maintenance needs and ensure compliance.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Complete daily maintenance paperwork and prepare equipment setups.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing.
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical/electrical repair.
• Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
• LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred.
• EPA Refrigeration Certification preferred.
• Basic PLC knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in noisy environments.
• Forklift or powered equipment experience preferred.
