WORK SHIFT
Friday: 4pm - 11:30pm
Saturday: 2pm - 10:30pm
Sunday: 12pm - 7:30pm
Monday: 3pm - 11:30pm
Target Pay$20 an hour. Pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job‑related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Purpose of JobThe primary responsibility of the Driver is to safely and efficiently transport specimens from hospitals to the laboratory while providing superior customer support to our clientele.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Adhere to Driver and Safety Handbook policies and protocols.
- Prepare routes (coolers, icepacks, biopsy bags, vehicle checklist).
- Deliver client supplies and specimens to the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
- Maintain specimen integrity at all times, using specimen carry bags for transport from client office/lock box to vehicle.
- Follow travel schedule and allow for special pick‑ups.
- Use logistics software for route pick‑ups, data entry and photo capture to notify management of lab pick‑ups or issues.
- Operate vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record within company guidelines.
- Ensure route is started with proper equipment and tools (carry bag, coolers, cellphone, keys, door hangers, reports, etc.).
- Complete late return forms when A.T.A. exceeds E.T.A.
- Use “We Were Here, But No Specimens Available” tags when applicable.
- Interact courteously and professionally with clients.
- Perform all other reasonable duties requested by Supervisor.
- Communicate issues to Transportation Supervisor and represent Antech positively.
- Maintain compliance with timekeeping, attendance, punctuality, safety requirements and other transportation processes.
- Assist in other duties relevant to transportation services.
High school diploma or equivalent.
RequiredSkills and Abilities
- At least 36 months of driving experience, demonstrated by a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Neat, professional appearance.
- Clean driving record.
- Positive, can‑do attitude.
- Prolonged standing/sitting/walking/driving.
- Fine dexterity and steadiness of hands.
- Lift up to 25 pounds (may occasionally need to lift 40 pounds); carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes.
- Communicate effectively in English with clients, supervisors and peers.
- Vision requirements for constant mental visual attention and seeing in limited light.
- Balance, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, twist.
Majority of time operating a motor vehicle. Laboratory environment with potential biohazards. Supervision is close to moderate. Exposure to zoonotic disease agents and hazardous chemicals is possible.
