Job Summary and Mission

The Warehouse Forklift Operator contributes to Shaw Baker’s success by ensuring ingredients, packaging, and finished goods are handled correctly.

The role works within the warehouse and supports inbound, outbound, storage, and selection of production work orders. It ensures high product quality and food safety, and supports safer, faster warehouse operations while maintaining accurate inventory. The operator observes partners’ needs, offers help, and actively engages in learning experiences to perform the job successfully.

Summary of

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving:
    Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices, complete receiving logs, and store products in designated areas.
  • Warehousing:
    Store products in the correct locations, keep areas secure, wrap finished goods, and input data into the PO Follow‑up system.
  • Shipping:
    Allocate raw materials or packaging according to production requests, load transfers accurately, and complete documentation in systems.
  • Communicate concerns to management and collaborate with warehouse team members.
  • Understand and communicate written policies, quality, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Comply with the HACCP plan and food safety requirements.
  • Accurately label and store ingredients, packaging, and finished pallets at proper holding temperatures and assigned locations.
  • Fulfill production ingredient orders, ensuring timely and complete deliveries.
  • Enter daily data into the PO Update and inventory tracking system accurately.
  • Complete transfers to cold storage and customer pickups accurately and before dispatch.
  • Complete forklift training at hire and every 3 years for continued certification.
  • Maintain regular and consistent punctual attendance.
  • Recognize others and suggest ideas to build team morale.
  • Notify management of potential food safety or quality issues.
  • Ensure occupational safety is a priority, reporting unsafe equipment or behavior.
  • Commit to GMP and food safety practices to comply with SQF and regulatory requirements.
Requirements Summary of Experience
  • Experience using forklift and pallet jack powered equipment.
  • Experience in perishable warehouse operations or a related area.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent (desirable).
  • Computer skills desirable.
  • Certifications:

    Forklift certification, pallet jack certification, and driver’s license.
Required Knowledge,

  • Understand written and verbal policies and guidelines, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Proficient with basic math operations.
