The Lead Coordinator for Student Success Initiatives oversees the BEACoN Research Program and CIX student intern team, and supports university-wide initiatives that expand student success, equitable access, and high-impact learning opportunities.
The primary responsibility of the Lead Coordinator for Student Success Initiatives is the management and operational oversight of the BEACoN Research Program, including coordination of program operations, faculty and student engagement, assessment, recruitment, communications, budget management, and strategic program growth. The position also oversees the CIX student intern program and provides administrative and programmatic support for broader student success initiatives connected to Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) efforts, Black Student Success Initiative (BSSI) strategies, mini-grant programs, and cross-campus partnerships, including initiatives connected to the Cal Poly Solano campus.
In addition, the incumbent independently manages financial and operational processes to support the sustainability, coordination, and strategic scaling of student success initiatives across the university.
Under the Division of University Personnel, The Department of Culture and Institutional Excellence (CIX) advances institutional excellence by supporting programs, initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen faculty, staff, and student success, equitable access, campus culture and high-impact educational experiences across the university.
Key Qualifications- Ability to take initiative and to independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform complex, project oriented administrative and program functions from initiation through completion in situations involving numerous and diverse demands, with full accountability for end results.
- Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, and applicable regulations pertaining to the assigned programs, and the ability to learn, interpret, and independently apply a wide variety of university policies and procedures, including in situations where specific guidelines or precedents may not exist.
- Skill in the research, development, and evaluation of program policies and procedures, including the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of operational and participation data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques, and of budget policies and procedures, including the ability to perform business mathematics, track and reconcile financial data, and make accurate projections using basic statistical and analytical techniques.
- Working knowledge of procurement and financial processes, including purchasing systems, Pro Card reconciliation, reimbursements, and vendor and participant payment coordination.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university. Three years of technical or administrative experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Anticipated Hiring Range:$74,160 - $85,188 per year
Classification Range: $63,288 - $92,208 per year
