Airport Terminal Services Worker

The County of San Luis Obispo Airports Department is excited to announce that they are accepting applications for an Airport Terminal Services Worker!

The Terminal Service Worker supports the day-to-day operations of the airport by maintaining clean and orderly facilities, assisting the public, and helping ensure compliance with parking and roadway regulations.

Airports are highly visible public facilities that operate under strict safety and security standards. Cleanliness, organization, and professionalism are essential. This position plays a key role in keeping the terminal and surrounding areas clean, safe, and welcoming for passengers, tenants, and staff.

Working at the airport means being part of a dynamic environment. Flights arrive and depart throughout the day, passengers move through the terminal, and operations run on tight schedules. Terminal Service Workers are part of the team that keeps everything moving. The work is active, public-facing, and meaningful — you can see the direct impact of what you do every shift.

Few workplaces offer a front-row seat to aviation and public service at the same time.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

• Clean and disinfect offices, workstations, restrooms, public areas, and exterior walkways
• Maintain floors and carpets using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and window coverings
• Collect and remove trash, recycling, and food waste
• Stock and maintain custodial supplies
• Document facility issues and create work order requests as needed

• Patrol parking lots and issue parking citations in accordance with airport rules and regulations
• Enforce terminal roadway and curb restrictions to maintain traffic flow and meet federal security requirements
• Direct drivers to appropriate parking facilities

• Provide courteous assistance to passengers, visitors, tenants, and staff
• Offer directions and general airport information
• Assist with parking system use and lost and found inquiries
• Respond to facility alarms and notify appropriate personnel
• Assist with event set-up and moving tables, furniture, and equipment
• Support airport staff as directed
• Foster a spirit of teamwork and maintain confidentiality

Previous custodial or public-facing experience is desirable.

A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:

Graduation from High School or GED.

Certain positions within this classification may require driving. When driving is an essential function of the position, a valid California driver license will be required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
