Childcare staff are an integral part of the Recreation Department, supporting before and after school care at local school sites. Childcare staff work in a team to provide quality care for children in grades TK - 6th, leading activities, building relationships, and making memories.
Hours per week: varies, up to 30 hours with flexible options for scheduling. Programs open Monday - Friday. Early morning, mid-day or afternoon shifts available.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDEmployees in this classification work under direct supervision of the Childcare Site Specialist.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead planned activities for groups of school-age children (art, games, science, cooking and more!)
- Work with a team to ensure all children are accounted for and safe at all times
- Communicate with co-workers, kids and families in a positive manner
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment
- 6 units of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreation, Psychology, Education, Kinesiology or related field
- Six months experience in a licensed childcare facility
or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
POSSESSION AND MAINTENANCE OF:- Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice
- Child Abuse Index check
- Tuberculosis Clearance and satisfactory Health Screening
- Copies of college transcripts
