Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

The Landscape Architecture Department seeks applicants for a pool of part‑time lecturers, with positions available as determined by need during the 2026–2027 academic year beginning August 17, 2027. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base. Courses in 2026–2027 will be 15‑week semester courses.

• Lower‑ and upper‑division design studios and support courses
• Landscape representation, hand and digital graphics that include 2‑ or 3‑dimensional graphics and drafting, CAD drafting and/or GIS software
• Landscape architecture construction including site engineering, construction document preparation and implementation strategies
• Environmental systems, landscape performance, and landscape ecology
• Professional practice, social equity design, design for climate change

• A Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field. Experience to fulfill a special need in the department will be considered with an undergraduate degree from various disciplines.

• Teaching and/or professional practice experience. Teaching experience is valuable but not required.

• The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
• Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.
