Mechanical Drafter

Position: Mechanical Drafter I

** Essential

Duties & Responsibilities *
* + Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director.

+ Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.

+ Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.

+ Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers.

+ Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans.

+ Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards.

+ Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.

** Qualifications*
* + BS in Mechanical Engineering required or 2 years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion.

+ Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.

+ Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.

+ Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)
