Trihydro, a leading environmental and engineering consulting firm in the country, is seeking a dedicated Environmental Permitting and Compliance Specialist to join our team in California. At Trihydro, we are committed to excellence, collaboration, growth, and fostering a dynamic work environment.

This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week and involves a blend of project management, strong communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply local, state, and federal planning and environmental statutes, regulations, and policies as they pertain to a variety of projects, including oil and gas, remediation, and renewable energy.
  • Analyze complex projects in accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines, playing a pivotal role in developing environmental documents and associated technical assessments on behalf of lead agencies.
  • Prepare environmental technical reports and permit applications in alignment with the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA), CEQA, NEPA, State and Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), the California Water Code, and the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
  • Collaborate within project teams to devise permitting and compliance strategies for remediation and development projects, both within and outside California.
  • Pursue California stormwater professional certifications and contribute to stormwater compliance efforts for regional projects.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments of remediation projects across the Central Coast region.
  • Manage complex project tasks independently and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Hydrology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations, particularly CEQA, NEPA, CWA, and ESA.
  • Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental planning, compliance, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in conducting research and interpreting regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

The salary information shown below is a general guideline ONLY. Salaries are based on candidates' experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $70,500 - $85,000

This position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected.
