The Quality Engineer II independently supports manufacturing quality and manages quality issues within assigned product or process areas. This role coordinates resolution of supplier‑related quality issues in partnership with Supply Chain. Tasks and responsibilities expected for this role include those captured by lower role specific levels.
This role involves working closely with engineers, production technicians, and operations teams to support multiple programs and value streams.
Key Responsibilities- Own and resolve internal production nonconformances
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support FAIs, validation builds, and inspection planning
- Partner with inspectors to interpret acceptance criteria
- Support internal audits and compliance activities
- Maintain quality metrics and reporting
- Supplier Quality Coordination
- Own supplier‑related NCRs under guidance
- Coordinate corrective actions with suppliers
- Support incoming inspection controls and risk assessments
- Interface with Procurement and Supply Chain on quality issues
- Support production quality issue resolution with inspectors and manufacturing teams
- Assist with nonconformance (NCR) documentation and tracking
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions under guidance
- Assist with first article inspection (FAI) preparation and documentation
- Review quality records for completeness and compliance
- Supplier Quality Support
- Support incoming inspection issue tracking
- Learn supplier nonconformance and escalation processes
- Maintain quality documentation per QMS requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years aerospace or high‑reliability manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and inspection standards
- Proficient in print reading and basic GD&T
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Pay range for this role: $98,000 - $114,000 USD
