Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Services for the Performing Arts Center, this position will assist in the creation and delivery of radio and television production for the campus athletics programs as well as special events that occur in our athletic venues. The role is a full‑time, one‑year temporary position and the successful candidate is eligible for the full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and CalPERS retirement.
KeyQualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of television and radio engineering practices, methods, and current trends, including frequency allocation, electromagnetic wave propagation, and radio signal strength measurements and tolerances.
- Comprehensive knowledge of digital and analog electronics theory and troubleshooting, and of audio/visual systems.
- Working knowledge of cable, fiber, microwave networks, and satellite systems, including the underlying theories and principles.
- Ability to plan, lay out, operate, and maintain television and radio broadcasting facilities.
- Ability to train, instruct, and provide direction to student assistants and other technical staff.
- Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field and equivalent to three years of progressively responsible experience as an audiovisual engineer, including all phases of operation and maintenance of television facilities and broadcast studios. Two years of related technical training may be substituted for the required education.
Salary and BenefitsAnticipated Hiring Range: $70,524 – $76,322 Per Year
Classification Range: $70,524 – $102,732 Per Year
