Job Description
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION ON A CITY ADVISORY BODY.
Annual recruitment is open through Sunday, March 29, 2026. Interviews will be scheduled following close of recruitment. On July 1, 2026, City Council will make final appointments during their Regular Meeting and terms will begin July 1, 2026. Applicants that meet minimum qualifications will remain on file for one year and will be considered if unscheduled vacancies occur.
There is one position available for appointment to a 4‑year term. This position is currently held by a member who is eligible for re‑appointment, should they choose to apply.
PurposeThe purpose of the Tree Committee (TC) is to advise City staff and the City Council on all matters related to trees in San Luis Obispo.
Meeting DetailsRegular meetings will be held the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room, City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo. More details:

- Resident and registered voter of the City.
- Tree Committee membership: one representative from the Architectural Review Commission and six members from the general public (two of whom shall be horticultural experts, if possible).
