Advisory Body - Personnel Board Member

THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION ON A CITY ADVISORY BODY

Annual recruitment is open through Sunday, March 29, 2026. Interviews will be scheduled following close of recruitment. On June 16, 2026, City Council will make final appointments during their Regular Meeting and terms will begin July 1, 2026. Applicants that meet minimum qualifications will remain on file for one year and will be considered if unscheduled vacancies occur.

There is currently one position available for appointment to a 4-year term. This position is held by a member that is eligible for re-appointment, should they choose to reapply.

The Person nel Board (PB) hears employee appeals of disciplinary action, to review employee grievances, and to hear issues of Council censure. The Board shall then make advisory recommendations to the City Council. The Person nel Board shall also perform other duties pertaining to personnel management as directed by the City Council.

Meetings are held at City Hall on an as-needed basis when personnel issues arise.

Five members of the Personnel Board shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve for terms of four years. Members must be residents of the City.

• Appointments will be made in a staggered every-other-year pattern, such that two members’ terms will expire during a given year and the terms of the other three members will expire two years later.
• Any vacancies on the Personnel Board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the person replaced.
• Members shall be appointed for no more than two consecutive terms (eight years).
