Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of public agency litigation matters, including municipal law, civil litigation, CEQA, and construction cases.
  • Represent public agencies, cities, counties, and special districts in various litigation matters.
  • Interpret, analyze, and provide guidance on local government laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, motions, pleadings, and other court filings.
  • Provide sound legal advice to public agency clients on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Participate in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case handling.
  • Qualifications
    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public agency litigation.
    • Strong background in municipal law, civil litigation, CEQA, construction defect, and construction cases.
    • Experience representing local government entities.
    • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
    • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
