Are you a finance leader looking to bridge the gap between local innovation and global scale? ESChat is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA.

Following our acquisition by JVCKENWOOD Corporation, we are entering an aggressive growth phase. As Controller, you will not only manage day-to-day financial integrity but also serve as a key liaison to our new corporate headquarters in Japan, helping us navigate our expansion into the North American public safety and global enterprise markets.

We are proud of our roots in San Luis Obispo. We are looking for a leader who wants to be physically present in our office and active in our local community. This is an ideal role for a professional who loves the Central Coast lifestyle and is ready to hit the ground running at our local HQ.

• Global Impact, Local Roots: Work in the heart of San Luis Obispo while managing complex, multinational financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Growth Potential: JVCKENWOOD is investing heavily in ESChat as a growth driver for their Safety & Security sector, aiming for a 10% market share by 2030.
• Mission-Critical Work: We provide the only FedRAMP Authorized broadband PTT service, used by the DEA and other federal, state, and local agencies to save lives.

• Leadership: Supervise the accounting team to exceed goals in corporate reporting, treasury, and tax.
• Compliance: Ensure revenue and expense recognition aligns with IFRS, JVCKENWOOD, and ESChat guidelines.
• Global Coordination: Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations with affiliated companies (DIVA ICT reporting) and interface with corporate HQ in Japan.
• Strategy: Monitor company wide cash flow, update projections, and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
• External Relations: Manage relationships with outside audit firms, banks, and taxing authorities.

• Education: BS in Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a high-tech environment.

  Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS; advanced Excel and ERP proficiency (Net Suite/Quick Books).
• Mindset: A self-starter who thrives on complex tasks and critical deadlines.

$120k-$150k

We are looking to fill this position quickly to align with our integration goals. We are seeking candidates who can start on-site in San Luis Obispo within 30 days of an offer.
