Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring technicians remain focused on value-added tasks, and driving operational efficiency. This role involves setting daily production goals, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and providing leadership in continuous improvement initiatives such as Gemba walks. The Production Supervisor also manages HR-related responsibilities, including performance reviews, timecard approvals, and compliance with labor laws.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Management- Establish and communicate daily production goals for the assigned Value Stream.
- Monitor and report on KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and quality standards.
- Lead and support daily Gemba walks to drive process improvements and problem-solving.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment and tooling needs, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering and Management for status updates.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Approve timecards and ensure compliance with break and lunch regulations.
- Partner with HR to manage employee performance, including disciplinary actions and recognition programs.
- Assist in the fabrication of composite parts and electromechanical assemblies.
- Follow detailed work instructions and document build processes.
- Identify and elevate process or quality concerns while suggesting improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Support Manufacturing Engineers in designing, testing, and refining products and processes.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and contribute to innovative problem‑solving.
- Ensure compliance with assembly and test procedures and train technicians across all skill levels.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency in wiring, soldering, parts fabrication, and assembly.
- Ability to interpret and follow written instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to remain professional in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and adherence to safe operating practices.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and ability to meet daily production goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Ability to work onsite as required.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
- Experience working with composites and complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Certifications in IPC and J‑STD standards.
- Experience in inventory and parts management.
- SLO Partners UAV Completion Certificate.
- 5‑10+ years of industry experience.
