RN - Manager

Responsibilities- Lead and manage Labor & Delivery unit operations on-site, ensuring patient safety and timely care.
- Provide expert nursing care for obstetric patients and newborns, in accordance with standards.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and delegation to maintain adequate coverage per shift.
- Develop and monitor quality metrics, pass rates, and patient outcomes to drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians and support staff to coordinate complex cases and transfers.
- Mentor and coach nurses, promoting professional development and advancement opportunities.
- Manage patient flow and throughput using pipelines and dashboards to optimize outcomes.
- Lead infection prevention initiatives and maintain a safe, clean clinical environment.
- Handle performance appraisals, feedback, and recognition to reinforce merit-based growth.
- Participate in budget management and supply chain decisions for the unit.
- Registered Nurse with California RN license and L&D specialty certification.
- Strong clinical expertise in obstetric and neonatal care, with evidence of patient-safety outcomes.
- Minimum 5 years L&D nursing experience with 2+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and delegation for 24/7 shifts.
- Experience in quality improvement, data dashboards, and patient throughput optimization.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (CMS, JCAHO, HIPAA) and hospital policies.
- Infection prevention leadership and safe-patient environment maintenance.
- Budget management, supply chain decisions, and cost-control for the unit.
- Mentorship and professional development coaching for nursing staff.
- Excellent collaboration and communication with physicians, support staff, and transfers.
- On-site role in San Luis Obispo, CA — work from our local office and be part of the team in person.
