  • Travel assignment with unit coverage responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Provide the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to neonates in the NICU during assigned night shifts.
  • Manage care planning, medication administration, monitoring of physiological changes, and psychosocial needs of neonates; support families through education and guidance.
  • Educate and train patients’ families on care needs and discharge planning as appropriate.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice; coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence‑based care.
  • Cross‑train and float to Pediatric units as needed to support staffing and patient coverage.
  • Document care accurately, adhere to unit protocols, and monitor for changes in patient condition and safety.
Requirements
  • Active RN licensure in the state of practice (California) or equivalent multi‑state option.
  • NICU or neonatal care experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work nights and 12‑hour shifts; willingness to float to Pediatric units as needed.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
    Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
