Registered Nurse II-Short Stay (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Job Summary
Responsible for the pre and post operative/procedure care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of health care needs and disease processes. Care includes technical skills, equipment, assessment, pre and post education and discharge in a fast paced environment. Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab preferred. This position is represented by CNA.
Education& Experience
- Associate Degree(A. S.) or equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score (Required)
- Minimum 6 months experience in medical surgical nursing in last 2 years (Preferred)
- Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab (Preferred)
- Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice (Required)
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS (Required)
- AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS (Required)
- Identifies common recurrent patient problems, symptoms and behavioral changes using standards of care 95% of the time.
- Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies 100% of the time.
- Demonstrates the knowledge/skill in the care of patients during post operative phase two recovery.
- Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life threatening emergencies in populations served.
- Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application, able to make recommendations for best monitoring based on patient presentation.
- Understands and follows chain of command per policy.
