RN II – Step Down Unit (SDU)

San Luis Obispo, CA

Contract | Nights (19:00 – 07:30) | Onsite

• Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step down unit
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies
• Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
• Monitor and manage cardiac and telemetry patients, responding appropriately to changes in condition
• Float to Medical-Surgical unit as needed

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
• Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required within 6 months of hire)

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course and/or Critical Care Course
• Minimum 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years

• Opportunity to work in a specialized step-down unit with a focus on cardiac and telemetry care
• Position represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
