Operating Room Nurse, Surgical Assistant, RN Nurse
RN - OR Circulator
Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists and coordinates the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures. Ensures patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care. Participates in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment. Is competent to circulate in the operating room during surgical procedures. Applies the principles of aseptic technique consistently. Safely operates all equipment routinely utilized in the operating room.
Prepares patients for surgery, including safe and appropriate anatomical positioning. Performs pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment following established criteria. Safely handles and disposes of biohazardous materials from operative procedures. Accesses facility information systems to retrieve and utilize pertinent information for patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills related to patient safety, security, emergency preparedness, and life safety requirements.
Documents temperature of tissue/allografts and verifies package integrity. Efficiently utilizes downtime for job-related or unit-specific tasks, including cleaning and restocking. Performs other related duties as assigned. Commitment to the safety and well-being of all associates and patients is upheld. All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment.
