Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Operating Room Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Coordinates surgical team activities, ensures patient safety, and maintains aseptic conditions throughout perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists by preparing and managing surgical equipment and supplies.
• Monitor and maintain a sterile environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including proper positioning and safety assessments.
• Administer perioperative nursing care, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative assessments.
• Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials following safety protocols.
• Access and utilize facility information systems to document patient care activities and monitor equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• One year of full-time operating room experience required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.
