Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Perioperative Nurse

Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, supporting surgeons and anesthesiologists throughout the operative process. Ensures patient safety, proper preparation, and effective coordination of equipment and staff during surgeries.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Apply and maintain aseptic techniques consistently to prevent infection.
• Operate and troubleshoot all surgical equipment routinely used in the OR.
• Prepare patients for surgery by positioning and anatomical alignment, ensuring safety.
• Assess and plan patient care pre-, intra-, and post-operatively following departmental protocols.
• Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials safely and according to hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent required;
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of recent full-time OR experience required.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor required; PALS certification preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and safety protocols.
