RN – Labor & Delivery (Nights, Mandatory Call)

San Luis Obispo, CA | Acute Care

Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 hours per week | Onsite

• Plan and provide nursing care to patients and families during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods
• Respond to and manage emergency obstetric situations as they arise
• Circulate for Cesarean section procedures
• Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and patient management
• Participate in mandatory call as required by unit needs; schedule is based on unit demand with no block scheduling

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent — required;
  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor — required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) — required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS) — required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification — required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification — required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification — required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience circulating in C-Section procedures
• Familiarity with CNA-represented work environments

• Opportunity to work in a dynamic Labor & Delivery unit providing comprehensive obstetric care across all stages of the perinatal period
