Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) needed for a travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date 09/14/2026 for a 13-week engagement. Earn between $2,662 and $2,900 per week with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Night shift available: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Work setting is a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This is a travel - temporary assignment requiring active licensure in the state of practice and BLIS/ACLS/NRP-type certifications as outlined below.

Short Term Acute Care Hospital
- Plan and provide nursing care to L&D patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods; manage emergencies and circulating for surgical deliveries
- Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff within scope of practice; collaborate with the care team to implement patient-centered plans
- Assess fetal and maternal status, monitor amniotic fluid and vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal changes with appropriate interventions
- Manage labor pain control and support alternative methods when suitable; assist with epidural placement and monitor maternal and fetal status after administration
- Respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia) with clinical judgment and teamwork
- Educate patients and families at all stages of perinatal care, ensuring understanding of care plans and discharge instructions
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Associate Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred - Two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification or AWHONN certification required
- PALS certification required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to work the listed night-shift schedule in a high-acuity perinatal setting
