Jr. Software Development Engineer – San Luis Obispo, CA (Jr. Developer Program)

Amazon is looking for highly motivated students to join the Jr. Developer Program (JDP). As a Jr. Software Development Engineer (Jr. SDE), you will write real software and collaborate with experienced engineers, fully integrating into a team and regularly contributing to impactful deliverables.

• Part‑time work during the school year (16 hours/week)
• Full‑time work during the summer (40 hours/week)
• 1:1 mentoring with an experienced Amazonian
• Bi‑annual performance reviews designed to support ongoing growth and development

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
• Graduating June 2028 or later
• Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field
• Ability to work year‑round until graduation (part‑time during the school year and full‑time during the summer)
• Ability to work in person year‑round at the San Luis Obispo corporate office (no remote or hybrid)
• Able to start work in June 2026
• Must be living within commutable distance to San Luis Obispo, CA
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object‑oriented design

• Previous technical internship(s), if applicable
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Ability to solve complex problems and work through ambiguity
