Instructor of Plumbing – Prison Programs (Grant Funded)
Make a difference where it matters most. This grant‑funded Instructor of Plumbing - Prison Programs helps transform lives by providing incarcerated individuals with hands‑on training in residential and commercial plumbing. By teaching practical, industry‑relevant skills, this position prepares students for entry‑level employment in the plumbing industry upon release, promoting successful reentry and reducing recidivism. This opportunity is well suited for professionals who value mentorship, education, and the power of second chances.
Responsibilities- Teach courses on plumbing technology, including introduction to plumbing technology, plumbing drain, waste, and venting systems, plumbing water supply and distribution systems, and plumbing fixture and appliance installation.
- Develop an effective curriculum and track students’ progress through that curriculum.
- Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree, certificate, or licensure at the highest level taught.
- Qualify under the occupational experience requirement for career, technical, and professional credential fields with three full‑time years (or equivalent) of related paid work experience, including at least one year within the five years immediately preceding the date of application.
- Alternatively, three years of full‑time (or equivalent) post‑secondary teaching experience in the credential field within the past five years.
- Meet qualifications as outlined under institutional procedure, Faculty Credentials.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research
Certifications:
Certified Instructor and Certified Module Test Proctor or ability to obtain required certifications within 30 days of hire. - Successful completion of security clearance.
- Successful completion of drug test.
- Arizona Driver’s License or Equivalent.
$59,959–$63,556 per year, depending on experience.
