We’re seeking certified Special Education (SPED), Elementary, Middle Grades, or Secondary Education teachers to teach and motivate individuals working toward their high school diploma. You will design engaging lessons, collaborate with fellow educators, and create a supportive, structured classroom where learning leads to opportunity.

• Teach all subjects to students who have not completed full academic achievement, potentially through K-12.
• Provide Special Education services when required.
• Appropriately implement teacher‑designed lesson plans and exhibit collaboration between classroom and Special Education teachers for the benefit of students.
• Access students' progress and develop an appropriate education plan.
• Develop and correct diagnostic tests, maintain educational records, and provide unit with monthly work evaluations.
• Maintain records of student performance and use them to guide instructional decisions.
• Maintain the security of all testing instruments.
• Consult with highly qualified teachers on subject‑matter concerns or questions.
• Teach various subjects and include learning experiences appropriate for curriculum goals based on principles of effective instruction.
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment using effective classroom management techniques.
• Escort and supervise inmates in the education building/classroom.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve Department and Education Bureau goals.
• Engage in professional development and maintain required certifications.
• Continually adapt for improving instruction and student learning.
• Drive State business.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.

• Certified teacher in Special Education (SPED) or Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Education.
• Arizona Teaching Certification.
• Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of effective instruction principles and classroom management techniques.
• Experience working with individuals or inmates in a structured environment.
• Commitment to professional development and maintaining required certifications.
