Purpose Statement
The job of Crossing Guard is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring for the safety and welfare of the students in transit to and/or from school; and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well-being of the students. This job reports to Transportation Director
Purpose StatementThe job of Crossing Guard is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring for the safety and welfare of the students in transit to and/or from school; and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well-being of the students. This job reports to Transportation Director
Essential Functions- Assist traffic for the purpose of ensuring the safety of students and other pedestrians.
- Assists students, parents, staff and visitors for the purpose of providing safe access to and from assigned location.
- Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of such information and the potential consequences of violation.
- Maintains job related equipment (e.g. stop sign, vests, street signs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items.
- Monitors student behavior entering and exiting school grounds for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Reports incidents (e.g. personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety guidelines.
- Responds to a variety of situations (e.g. altercations, accidents, injuries, vandalism, suspicious activities, alarms, etc.)
Experience: Job related experience is not required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates and Licenses: IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Salary: 16.00/Hr
