Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk (APC) prepares and processes payments for vendor invoices and other financial obligations in accordance with internal accounting policies. The APC reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed. This position maintains and reconciles the accounts payable ledger, responds to vendor inquiries, and resolves any discrepancies in billings and payments.

• Sort/scan any invoices received via regular mail
• Import invoices from the AP email account
• Code invoices to correct Job, Cost Center, and General Ledger Account
• Scan and input preliminary lien notices
• Monthly check runs
• Credit applications
• Credit card reconciliation and entering into AP along with tracking reimbursements
• Daily input and recording of hand-check requests
• Entering new contracts from subcontractors
• Process change orders from subcontractors
• Follow up on payment/invoice inquiries
• Track invoices through approval chain
• Track unconditional releases
• Enter sub releases
• Set up new Vendors
• Request W-9’s for new vendors as needed
• Act as backup to AP as needed
• Complete once a month full cycle AP

• Attention to detail and data entry
• Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multi-tasking, work independently and remain self-motivated
• Demonstrate solid problem solving skills
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting
• Maintaining vendor relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Exhibit discretion and ability to safeguard confidential information

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
• 1-3 years previous accounts payable experience
• Construction experience preferred
• Software experience in Timber Scan, Timberline and AP software preferred
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook

The pay range for this position of employment is expected to between $26.00/hour and $30.00/hour. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
