Admissions Counselor - Communications Team
Occasional overnight travel and work beyond normal 8-5 M-F may be required during peak business periods.

Required Qualifications- Effective and accurate written communication skills
- Texas State employee or alumnus
- Prior experience in professional college admissions or closely related experience
- Experience with short-form video production
- Experience with web content management systems
- Experience developing and proofing print publications
- Experience developing and proofing digital publications
- Experience with event coordination
The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor visits high schools and two-year colleges in order to recruit academically gifted students for the university, and provides counseling to students and parents.
Additionally, this position reports to the Assistant Director for Strategic Marketing & Communications assisting in the development and maintenance of recruitment materials. Areas of focus include campaign/communication flow planning, publication editing, website maintenance, and social media content/short-form video creation.

- Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors via available media
- Preparing recruitment reports
- Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
- Other duties as assigned
Applicant must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be a driver in good standing with less than ten (10) points deducted for driving infractions as determined by the employer driving standards system.
