Job Overview
Under general supervision of the Director of Academic Advising, the Intake Academic Advisor performs professional-level academic advising and student services to undergraduate students in a centralized advising environment. The incumbent provides front-line intake advising services while exercising independent and professional judgement to assess and respond to complex student needs.
This position advises undergraduate students regarding general education, university, and graduation requirements; interprets and applies academic policies and procedures; delivers high-touch student service in a high-traffic environment. The role supports new and continuing students through intake, orientation, and enrollment-related services, and makes appropriate referrals and academic interventions as needed.
The incumbent receives day-to-day operational guidance and functional direction from the Assistant Director of Academic Advising Operations, provides lead direction and training support to student Peer Advisors, and collaborates with campus partners to ensure consistent, accurate advising services.
Position SummaryIntake Academic Advisor (Student Services Professional II) – two full-time, exempt positions. Successful completion of the probationary period leads toward permanent status.
Responsibilities- Provide intake academic advising and support to undergraduate students on general education, university, and graduation requirements.
- Interpret and apply academic policies and procedures accurately.
- Deliver high-touch student services in a high-traffic environment.
- Support new and continuing students through intake, orientation, and enrollment-related services.
- Make appropriate referrals and academic interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with campus partners and ensure consistent advising services.
- Provide training and lead direction to student Peer Advisors.
Anticipated monthly salary: $5,083. Salary range: $5,083 – $7,228 per month. Salary is commensurate with background and experience.
