The Department of Physics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part‑time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PHYS 201:
Physics of Mechanics and Sound.

Course Description

A broad coverage of the principles of mechanics and wave motion. The areas covered include observation and measurement, kinematics, dynamics, work and energy, impulse and momentum, equilibrium of rigid bodies, rotational motion, oscillations, and waves in mechanical media.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Physics and related fields.
  • Must work in the State of California as a condition of employment (per CSU Out‑of‑State Employment Policy).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate or equivalent in Physics and related fields.
  • Experience teaching similar courses at 4‑year universities.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community.
Salary
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,008 per full‑time month.
  • Lecturer B: $6,221 - $7,045 per full‑time month.
