The Department of American Indian Studies at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part‑time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short‑term temporary lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as‑needed basis throughout the academic year.
Minimum Qualifications- A master’s degree of equivalent in American Indian Studies or a related discipline.
- Compliance with the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy; working in California is a condition of employment.
- Higher education teaching experience.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community in teaching and, as applicable, service.
- Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month.
- CSU Classification Salary Range – Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
- CSU Classification Salary Range – Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month.
- The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
