The Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PSCI 100: U.S. Government and Politics. The course covers the principles of the U.S. Constitution and provides a survey of political institutions and processes including the legislature, executive, courts, state and local government, federalism, and civil liberties.
- Qualifications: A master's degree in political science
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is required.
- Preferred qualifications: A doctorate in Political Science; experience teaching in higher education in the area of instruction; preference for applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community.
- Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
- Salary: Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full-time month (Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677; Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224). The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
