BIOT 460:
Scientific Communication in Biotechnology is a course focused on the principles and rhetorical strategies used to effectively communicate within the biotechnology industry. Students will learn to plan, prepare, construct, and evaluate communication situations while acting as both producers and consumers of communication in biotechnology careers.
- Develop and deliver instructional materials for BIOT 460.
- Assess and grade student work, providing constructive feedback.
- Facilitate in-class discussions and activities related to scientific communication.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry communication practices.
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Biological Sciences or related fields.
- Compliance with the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy (must work in California).
- Doctorate or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related fields.
- Experience teaching similar courses at four‑year universities.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community.
Anticipated hiring range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month. Salary will be commensurate with degree level and experience and selected from the appropriate CSU Lecturer A or Lecturer B classification ranges.
