Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Film/Cinema and Media Studies, Film, Television, and Media Studies, Drama/Theater, or Mass Communication
  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND a Master’s degree in Visual Studies, Media Studies, English, or Communication
  • A combination of education and experience at least equivalent to the qualifications in either
    1) or
    2). Applicants must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form if the specific minimum qualifications are not met at the time of application. Degrees not yet awarded at the time of submission are not eligible.
  • Only coursework completed at accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will satisfy the minimum qualifications. Coursework completed outside the United States requires evaluation by an U.S. credentials evaluation service. For a list of accepted agencies, please refer to the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE).

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in film studies, preferably at the community‑college level or above.
  • Experience with learning management systems and online modalities of instruction.
