Job Title: Early Education Program Coordinator

Salary Range: $21.00

FLSA Status: Part-time Non-exempt

Primary Function

The Early Education Program Coordinator delivers high-quality, play-based expanded learning program designed specifically for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. Through intentional lesson planning, relationship-based teaching, and developmentally appropriate practices, this position creates engaging experiences that foster social-emotional growth, early literacy and numeracy, creativity, physical development, and school readiness. Reporting directly to the Site Director, the coordinator serves as a subject matter expert for TK/K programming and works collaboratively with site staff to ensure our youngest members experience a safe, joyful, and enriching environment every day.

Manage & Develop Resources
  • Monthly program planning is required to ensure preparation and successful programs and activities.
  • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and inspiring youth to be the best they can be.
  • Assess and monitor children's progress through observations and assessments, providing feedback to parents as needed.
  • Attend and participate in Staff Trainings; apply knowledge gained post-training.
  • Manage and embrace the Youth Development Strategy, ASSET, and Boys & Girls Club culture and philosophies.
  • Actively involved in classroom preparation, classroom cleaning, snack/lunch supervision, playground duty, and naptime monitoring where applicable.
  • Support two Site Showcases per school year where you would take the lead on showcasing TK – K activities.
  • Must be able to inform important and relevant information in Staff Meetings and to members, parents, co-workers, Program Coordinator, Site Director and other Boys & Girls Club affiliates.
  • Must be able to listen to co-workers, parents, youth members and community and other Boys & Girls Club affiliates.
  • Must be able to present important and relevant information and/or presentations through program facilitation, staff meetings or training, and/or other Boys & Girls Club events.
  • Must be able to write and compose clear, concise, accurate written documentation and data reports.
  • Proven proficiency in building and supporting relationships with families; understanding differentiated learning styles, from neurotypical to neurodiverse students, preferred.
  • Strong cultural competency and confidence working with diverse family backgrounds striving to create a community and a place for children to belong.
  • Check and respond to emails frequently, according to employee communication norms.
  • Attend any required meetings with Early Childhood Program Coordinators.
  • Family Engagement
    • Build trusting relationships with families
    • Communicate regularly about children’s successes and developmental progress
    • Welcome families into showcase and special events
    • Support smooth transitions between the school day and expanded learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, site administration, and club leadership to support continuity between instructional day and expanded learning programs.
