Position Overview
The Occupational and Noncredit Programs department is seeking qualified part‑time instructors to teach Apprenticeship – Sheet Metal. Teaching assignments may include any of the curriculum‑approved courses within the discipline of Apprenticeship – Sheet Metal.

Part‑time faculty assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend work, and work at more than one location (San Marcos campus and/or off‑campus locations, as well as distance education classes).
Initial Placement SalaryHourly Range: $75.81 – $119.20 (instructional); $74.60 – $117.69 (non‑instructional)
BenefitsPart‑time faculty employees are eligible to elect membership in the APPLE (Accumulation Program for Part‑Time Limited‑Service Employees) retirement plan.
Job DutiesTeach Sheet Metal Apprenticeship courses, including curriculum‑approved subjects within the discipline of Apprenticeship – Sheet Metal. Class and student engagement, assessment, and student support are integral to the role.
Minimum Qualifications- Possession of an associate degree and at least four years of occupational experience in the subject matter area to be taught.
- Six years of occupational experience, a journeyman’s certificate in the subject matter, and completion of at least twelve (12) semester units of apprenticeship or college‑level coursework. The twelve‑semester‑unit requirement may be satisfied concurrently during the first two years of employment.
- Six years of occupational experience and a minimum of ten years of experience as an apprenticeship instructor for the California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards.
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to any of the above. Applicants must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). ), if specific minimum qualifications are not met. Degrees not yet awarded at the time of application are included.
Only coursework completed at accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will satisfy the minimum qualifications. Coursework or degrees completed outside the United States must have transcripts evaluated by a U.S. credential evaluation service (e.g., NACES or AICE).

Supervision ReceivedPart‑time faculty members receive supervision from the Division Dean and direction from the Department Chair.
