The Program of Social Sciences at California State University San Marcos welcomes applications for temporary lecturer positions in the 2026/27 academic year. Positions are part‑time and may last from one day to a full semester.

• Master’s degree in a social science field (e.g., Anthropology, Border Studies, Communication, Geography, History, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies)
• Expertise in a social science field
• Experience teaching a social science field at the higher‑education level
• Compliance with California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy

Preferred qualifications:

• Doctorate or equivalent in a social science field
• Experience teaching upper‑division courses in a related social science field
• Capacity to teach using interdisciplinary frameworks
• Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated hiring range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month. The position is classified as Lecturer A or Lecturer B (AY) according to CSU salary schedules.
