Social, Behavioral, and Community Health (Fall 2026)

Department of Public Health at California State University San Marcos seeks a part‑time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PH 303 – Social, Behavioral, and Community Health. This three‑unit course is taught over the semester and covers current health issues from a social science and behavioral perspective, using an ecological approach to explore determinants, multilevel influences, risk factors, and prevention/promotion strategies.

Teach PH 303 in accordance with the university’s academic calendar, develop lecture materials, facilitate class discussions, assess student learning, and provide timely feedback. Collaborate with core faculty on curriculum development and participate in departmental meetings.

• A Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) – required.
• Experience teaching or working with college‑level students.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with faculty and colleagues.
• Eligibility to work in the state of California – California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy requires all employees to be California residents.

• A doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field (e.g., PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD, JD).
• Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serve the campus community.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

• Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $6,000 per full‑time month.
• CSU Classification – Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
• CSU Classification – Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month.
