The Department of Finance at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part‑time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short‑term temporary lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester and will be filled as needed throughout the academic year. The current pool is closed as of May 31.

Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in business or a related discipline
  • Industry experience in a finance‑related position
  • Compliance with California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy – work must be performed in California
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Intercultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to serving our campus community in teaching and service
Salary
  • Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month (Lecturer A – Academic Year)

Information

Eligible applicants must be willing to comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, the CSU Executive Order 1083 requirements, and all background verification procedures. Background checks include employment, education, reference, and criminal record checks. The offer of appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
