The Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer to teach MSW 661 – Social Work in Healthcare. The course is a 3‑unit class, with one 3‑hour class each week of the 15‑week semester, taught in a hybrid format (half online, half in‑person).
Course DescriptionRoles and responsibilities of social workers as part of an interdisciplinary health care team. Culturally competent social work in acute, ambulatory, preventive, long‑term, and palliative care settings. Ethical dilemmas in social work in health care.
Qualifications- A Master of Social Work
- Five (5) years of post‑MSW related experience
- Two years of applicable practice experience in health care and/or medical settings.
- LCSW licensure
- Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
- A doctoral degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
- Experience in teaching classes and instructional methodology.
- Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community.
- Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
